## What NOMEN does

- Scans supported images and documents in folders selected by the user.
- Uses local CLIP indexing as a baseline.
- Can use an optional local Ollama vision-language model for richer descriptions and search terms.
- Writes searchable native file metadata.
- On macOS, Finder and Spotlight can consume the written keywords.
- Leaves original files in their existing folders.
- Stores rebuildable derived catalog data under `<source>/__catalog__/`.

## What NOMEN does not claim

- NOMEN is not a cloud storage service or a forced library import.
- The current macOS build is not yet a public notarized release.
- Windows support is planned and is not currently available.
- Search indexing by the operating system is asynchronous and is not guaranteed to appear instantly.
